The Pokemon GO Christmas Event Starts Tomorrow, And This Is What You Need To Do To Prepare

Pokemon GO Christmas Event Starts Tomorrow

At the time of writing, there’s approximately 24 hours left until the Pokemon GO Christmas event begins, which means it’s the perfect time to start talking about what you need to do in order to properly prepare yourself for all of the events and goodies you’re about to receive.

As you’ll remember from our previous article about the Christmas event, the first part of this event will feature an increased chance to hatch the new Gen 2 baby Pokemon, and you’ll also get a free one-use incubator from the first Poke Stop that you spin every day, for 10 days (that makes 10 free incubators!)

In order to enter this event as prepared as possible, I highly recommend that you go for a very long walk right now and hatch all of the eggs in your inventory. Seriously, every single one. If you’ve got 9 eggs and only one incubator, then I’m sorry, but it’s going to be one helluva long day of walking for you.

Why the insistence on walking and hatching all of your current eggs? It’s simple: If you go into the event with no eggs, every egg you obtain henceforth will have a greater chance of containing a Gen 2 baby Pokemon, as the first part of the event will increase the odds of hatching one of these cute critters.

And, since we’re going to get a free one-use incubator every day for the next 10 days, you certainly don’t want to be wasting them on your old eggs, since they won’t have the increased odds of hatching a Gen 2 baby Pokemon. Makes sense, right?

And in order to prepare for the second part of the event? Well, since we’ll be seeing an increased spawn rate of Gen 1 starters (and their evolutions), you should really start stocking up on Great and Ultra Balls. Seriously, the catch rate for Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise is very low, so you’re going to need every single ball you can get your hands on!

But what are you doing to prepare for the Pokemon GO Christmas event? Will you be cleaning out your inventory of eggs and stocking up on Great and Ultra Balls? Or are you just going to wing it and hope for the best? Let me know your strategy for the event in the comment section below!

  1. The same in Denmark. No incubators all the day. Only the same old Pokemons. Nothing happened about Christmas event.

  2. We followed your advice and had cleared all of our eggs yesterday so this morning we loaded up with new eggs before going on a walk. No incubators!! All three of us hatched the 9 eggs each and not a single new Pokémon! The Christmas event is a bust! They were unclear of what “morning” west coast time means. We are EST and have checked from 6:30 am – 10 am.
