How many eggs have you hatched since you started playing Pokémon GO? I’m sitting somewhere around the 150 mark, but I have a few friends who have hatched well over 300 eggs. When you’re hatching that many eggs, there’s a very good chance you’re going to come across a Pokémon with “Perfect IVs”.
… You do remember what IVs are, don’t you? If not, you can click here to read our first article explaining what they are and how to calculate them. But calculating them individually can be a bit tedious; which is why Reddit user “homu” devised a way to instantly tell if your hatched Pokémon has perfect IVs
The way it works is simple. After you’ve reached level 20, the Pokémon you hatch from eggs won’t get any stronger. This means that whether you’re a level 20 player or a level 40 player, both players will hatch Pokémon that are level 20 from eggs.
And, since we know what the absolute maximum CP is for any given Pokémon at any given level, we can then determine if the Pokémon has a “perfect” IV distribution simply by looking at that Pokémon’s CP when hatched. Here’s the infographic:
To explain it again, if you’re level 20 or higher and you hatch, for example, a Squirtle with 576 CP, this means that it has perfect IVs. That is the absolute best Squirtle you can ever, ever possibly hatch from an egg.
And just to re-iterate, because I know there will be a lot of comments asking about this, yes: this infographic only applies for players who are level 20 or above. If you’re below level 20, you will hatch weaker Pokémon.
Do you think this infographic will come in handy when hatching eggs? Or do you not really pay attention to the IVs of your Pokémon? Let me know what you think in the comments section below!
(Oh, and tell me if you’ve managed to hatch a 100% perfect Pokémon yet, I’d like to hear about that.)
