Real-World Events For Pokemon GO

As well as announcing the Pokemon GO fire and ice event, Niantic have revealed that there will be multiple real-world events for Pokemon GO over the coming weeks and months. More specifically, it is now confirmed that there will be real-world events for Pokemon GO in the U.S.A., Japan, and Europe.

This news comes just days after Mathieu de Fayet, Niantic’s Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, gave an interview with Brazilian publication Globo, confirming that the legendary Pokemon would be coming to the game this summer. In the same interview, Mathieu expressed Niantic’s desire to implement real-world events in Pokemon GO in the near future.

This final paragraph gives me a little bit of hope that there will be some more real-world events for Pokemon GO announced for additional Countries in the near future, as we’d love to have one some in Australia! I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, though.

But what do you think about these real-world events for Pokemon GO? Do you think they’ll be a lot of fun, or could they end up being over-hyped and lackluster? Will you be able to attend any of them? As always, let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!

  2. I’ll admit I’ve been a little bored with Pokemon Go as I just hit level 32 and tired of catching pidgeys and what not, but Pokemon is coming to Chicago! So that’s very cool for me.
